This cub, like so many they have used before was dead within a few weeks of these photos after being used as a photo prop at the Kissimmee Sky Coaster.

Subject: Tiger Cub update! And another favor............
Hi all! Here is the latest on the new baby. He is now weighing in at 7 lbs. 3 oz and growing daily. He is walking around, but not quite up to romping in the fields just yet. Janda still hates the whole idea, so that's going to take some time to rectify. She wants nothing to do with the little guy right now, but I think that once he's up and running, and appears to be somewhat fun, she'll come around. One can only hope..........
I need to ask you all for a favor again. This is VERY important, and of a timely manner again. I need all of you to write a short email letter to Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to tell them how much it meant to you to have a hands on experience with a baby big cat. They are currently talking about banning ALL contact with Class 1 animals (lions, tiger, leopards and jaguars) regardless of size, and the general public. This would mean that you would never be able to sit and cuddle with our little cub, or any other little cub ever again. That just isn't right. What I'd like you to do is click on the following link and send me the message, but address it to them if you would. I will print them all out and take the letters with me to the next meeting, which is running from August 8 - August 10, 2007. So I will need you to take 10 minutes to just write down your thoughts on how the experience touched you and possibly even changed your life in some manner, and how you would NOT like to have this privilege revoked by them. I know what it did for me and I just don't want this option to be taken away from everyone in the future. There is no reason for them to ban the contact with baby big cats. That would be an awful loss to so many people!!
For those of you who had the privilege of having the hands on experience with Chuffer in the past, I would prefer that you don't mention him by name, or his size at the time of your experience. They do not allow contact with the Class I animals over 40 pounds now, so I doubt they would find that amusing at all. Just mention the experience itself (and not his size) and how it touched you to be in the presence of such an animal. I know that all of you have been touched by this in some manner or I wouldn't be writing to you right now.
I need you all to do this right away. It doesn't have to be fancy, just talk from your heart. Keep it brief, and please, don't mention us by name. They just need to know that you had a great experience, they don't need to know where you had it. I'd still like to run under the radar for a while longer if possible. So please DO NOT REPLY to this email. Click this link and send me a new one. AnimalLover0104@aol.com. That's my second alias email address. That way they won't necessarily know it's from me. I know this sounds silly, but that's the game we have to play.
Here are some updated pictures of the little dude. We are still looking for a name for him, so if you have any last minute entries, let me know. We are calling him Dozer right now (he's either bulldozing through the house or dozing on the floor), but we are leaning toward Takoda (friend to everyone) at the moment. If you can top that one, let me know. We are hoping to hear from more of you soon for photo sessions with the baby boy. We are WAY in the hole with this endeavor, and we've already had some unexpected Vet bills and two missed weekend jobs due to rain. So we need to get back on track soon. We would appreciate you sending us some referrals if you can't make it here yourselves. Even a couple of sessions per week will help us out!
@aol.com and I will see that they get to the powers that be! Every one is important, so please take a few minutes to preserve your right to cuddle!
Thanks again! See you all soon!
Janice

CaroleBaskin, 4 years ago | FlagMy family and I went to Old Town, Orlando for a car show last month. At one of the ride areas, there was a small white tent set up with an 11 week old white tiger on display, available to hold for a photo opportunity. They had a donation jar available but were taking ten dollars from anyone standing in line to have their picture taken with this beautiful animal. I stood there for over an hour and watched as they let this baby take 'cat naps' in between photo shoots, but let each and every tourist handle this cub. The woman who owned the cub said she does this all the time and does not feel it's abuse in any way. For your ten dollar 'donation' you get to keep an instant polaroid.
