When driving along the short 26 mile stretch of Highway 73 in Dallas County, Missouri no one would suspect there are 2 beautiful BENGAL TIGERS within 400 feet of the roadway. The dilapidated barn, where these majestic animals are kept was hit by a tornado a few years back and received roof damage and possible structural damage. The barn may contain domestic livestock, but it is becoming questionable if two Bengal Tigers can be contained in such a small space.
The tigers have been in this damaged barn for over a year and have recently shown advanced aggressive behavior. The female has jumped the entire height of the confined area. The roof may have suffered uplift damage during the tornado and the female could hit the roof enough to escape. The open area of the confinement is not at all visable from the highway and is less than 50 feet of another property owner. The adjacent property owner has several no trespassing signs posted.
In addition, the persons living in a trailer either own or care for the animals and are possibly physically unfit to continue to care for these animals. It is not known if anyone else is available to care for the animals. The gentleman living in the trailer has been observed with a cane and the lady reportedly had a recent operation on her skull.
The circumstances listed above and the basic attitude of this older couple is enough reason to provide a more secure structure for these animals or have them removed to a confinement that is safe for them and safe for the surrounding neighborhood.
Please see attached photographs that show the condition of the barn and the small space of confinement.
The address and description of the location of the animals is;
2640 State Highway 73, Tunas MO 65764
The property is located in part of the West 1/2 of the SW 1/4 lying East of MO highway 73 of Section 28, Twp 36, RG 19, Dallas County, Missouri
